Cotswold Outdoor Switch to Royalty Free Music

Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Group which also features brands Snow and Rock, Cycle Surgery, and Runners Need, are today predicting a cost saving in excess of £50,000 a year in PRS and PPL music licence fees through their partnership with FreedomMusic. The outdoor clothing and equipment high-street retailer has switched to licence free music across their entire 125 site estate in a bid to further improve in-store customer experience.

FreedomMusic profiled each of the four brands and curated bespoke playlists to appeal to each unique customer base. In order to manage each site independently, FreedomMusic have deployed an online networked music delivery system across the Outdoor and Cycle Concepts Group estate. Founder of FreedomMusic, Nick Findlay, comments, “Bringing our music delivery solution online means that each site can be independently scheduled with music and messages at different times of the day.” This ancillary service has proved to be a hit in-store as Siobhan Ridge concludes, “FreedomMusic’s roll-out strategy was quick, effective, and all completed in just a few weeks. The networked solution gives us the option to ‘day-part’ the music by various tempos or genres in our stores.”
